Program Description | The M.S. Clinical Laboratory Sciences program prepares students to enter this highly skilled laboratory profession focused on the analysis of patient specimens to diagnose and monitor disease and to contribute to overall wellness. Graduates are trained as generalists and are qualified by national certification and New York State licensure to work in several areas of a clinical laboratory including chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, immunology, microbiology, and molecular diagnostics. Clinical laboratory technologists work closely with clinical pathologists, physicians and other care providers to provide accurate and timely information to assist in the treatment of patients for the best possible outcome. Graduates are also prepared for careers in forensic, quality control, and research laboratory settings. *Please note that students who already hold a B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences are not eligible for the M.S. program. They should consider the M.S. in Molecular Biosciences as an alternative. |
