Program Description

The Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program (PSGP) is a research-oriented degree program that offers multidisciplinary training in the areas of Drug Design & Discovery (DDD) and Drug Delivery & Clinical Pharmacology (DDCP). Students who fulfill the academic criteria of course work and original research culminating in a thesis or dissertation will earn the Master of Science (M.S.) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree, respectively. The two areas of specialization are multi-interdisciplinary and on the cutting edge of the ever-advancing field of pharmaceutical sciences, thus providing a state-of-the-art educational experience for the student.

M.S. students are required to complete a minimum of 22 hours of course work and 8 hours of thesis credits for a total of 30 hours. The Ph.D. requires a minimum of 23 credits beyond the
M.S. level (or 53 credits minimum beyond the baccalaureate degree), with at least 19 credits of course work and 4 credits of dissertation research; those entering the Ph.D. program with only a Bachelor’s degree will need additional coursework to meet the 53 credits minimum.
