Program Description

Program Description:
The College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University places high priority on graduate education and the improvement of human health by advancing the discovery and understanding of medicines. The online non-thesis master’s degree provides students with a scientific understanding of how preventative, therapeutic and diagnostic drugs are brought to market — from research and discovery to manufacturing and approval. Students develop an in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical research methods and instrumentation. Additionally, students learn how to analyze and manage large data sets that are derived from processes like high throughput screening assays, mass spectrometry and genetic manipulation.

Our nationally renowned faculty members have strengths in wide-ranging areas of pharmaceutical science with many having been recognized for teaching excellence, outstanding research and their professional activities. OSU is an internationally recognized expert in the highly specialized field of nanotechnology-based drug delivery. This is the same technology used to develop COVID vaccines, and there is high demand for this expertise across the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
